Drew Montreuil and FLX Weather

Twenty years of daily, no-hype local forecasting for the Finger Lakes.

I'm Drew Montreuil, a meteorologist in Groton, in Tompkins County. I started forecasting for my own town in 2006 as Groton Weather. In 2012 it became Finger Lakes Weather, and today FLX Weather covers the whole region at flxweather.com.

I've written a forecast for this region nearly every day since. Over twenty years I've learned how storms behave here: where the lake effect sets up, which hills catch the extra inch, and when a quiet forecast deserves a second look.

Client Services lets me put that experience to work for the people who need a forecast for their own roads, buildings, and plans.

How I forecast

The same approach, every day

Honest, without hype

I tell you what I expect and how sure I am. A big storm gets the same plain language as a quiet day.

A person, not a program

Every forecast is written by me. Computer models are tools I use, not a replacement for judgment.

Clear and consistent

I'd rather send one clear forecast than a dozen updates. You should be able to read it fast and act on it.
